Emergency services responded to several incidents across Palm Beach in the final days of December, according to reports received by authorities.
Road Hazard
Just before 11.30pm on Sunday, 28 December, NSW Police were called to a report of a tree fallen across the roadway on Barrenjoey Road, Palm Beach.
Bush Fire at Barrenjoey Headland
Just after 1.30pm on Tuesday, 30 December, NSW Rural Fire Service crews from Terrey Hills, Tumbledown Dick, Ingleside and West Pittwater responded to a report of a fire in bushland at the top of Barrenjoey Headland, Palm Beach.
Firefighters located a slow-burning fire measuring approximately 20 metres by 20 metres. The fire was contained and extinguished by 4.00pm.
Fatal Boat Incident
Just after 11.30am on Wednesday, 31 December, emergency services responded to a report of a boat that had crashed onto rocks at the base of Barrenjoey Headland, Palm Beach.
Three occupants were thrown into the water. One man in his 40s managed to reach safety but was injured on the rocks. A second man in his 40s was pulled from the water without breathing or a pulse. Rescuers commenced CPR, however he could not be revived.
A 14-year-old boy was also washed from the boat and disappeared from view. An extensive search was conducted but he was not located and is feared dead.
NSW Police, NSW Ambulance and the Toll NSW Ambulance Rescue Helicopter attended the scene.
Police investigations into the incidents are ongoing.
